How to remove ads from Facebook

 

Pop-up Edition – if the ads you see are pop-ups.

Holy cow. I advertise everyday on Facebook, there aren’t pop-ups.
That is not an advertising option, and Facebook itself does not have pop-ups.

This is a virus. Please take a few steps to ensure your computer is clean and safe again.

Everyone here:

A couple of steps:
1. Scan your computer for pop-ups/viruses
Free trusted antivirus: http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download

2. Don’t use Internet Explorer, I used to do tech support for 3+ years. IE is the most targeted browser. I would install either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

3. Once you have installed Chrome or Firefox, install AdBlock Plus
Firefox version: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/
Chrome version:https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/cfhdojbkjhnklbpkdaibdccddilifddb

Once that is installed, go to Facebook, and use the encrypted version (https://www.facebook.com/) don’t use the http://www.facebook.com/ version. That little “s” is very important.

If you still have pop-ups. Then you have major problems. I would suggest finding a technical support person to help you fix your computer.
